Jumbo Jump — Multi-city Ticketing Site + Online POS

Project Details

Jumbo Jump needed a website that could sell time-slot tickets across cities, highlight attractions, and withstand high footfall—while giving on-site counters and supervisors a single, unified POS. I delivered a multi-city experience on WordPress + WooCommerce with session-based products, policies/FAQs to reduce counter queries, and an integrated POS that reads/writes the same orders and inventory as the site.

My Role

  • Full-stack development (WordPress + WooCommerce customizations)
  • Architecture & database design for time-slot capacities and session logic
  • POS integration (shared orders/inventory, role-based actions)
  • Front-end flows for fast booking and mobile checkout
  • QR pass generation and gate-scan status handling
  • Deployment, performance tuning, and admin UX

Key Features Delivered

  • Multi-city ticketing: Locations hub (Karachi Safari Park, Lahore DHA; Islamabad “coming soon”) with direct “Book Tickets” flows.
  • Session-based products: Family / Ladies-only sessions, clear inclusions & policies.
  • Integrated Online POS:
    • Single source of truth (no double entry).
    • Time-slot controls: capacity caps, overbooking protection, real-time availability.
    • Fast counter UX: quick sell, customer lookup, discounts, manual adjustments with permissions.
    • Seamless entry: auto-generated QR passes; gate scanning updates status (valid/used/refunded).
    • Ops reporting: live dashboards (sales by city/session), cashier shifts, end-of-day summaries.
  • Visitor guidance: FAQs & policies reduce counter queries.
  • Brand credibility: Media highlights, incl. Guinness World Records recognition of the Karachi inflatable castle.

Tech Stack

  • Frontend: WordPress theme (custom), responsive/mobile-first UX
  • E-commerce: WooCommerce (custom product types for sessions/time slots)
  • Backend: Custom plugins for capacity logic, POS endpoints, QR issuance
  • Data & Integrations: Shared order/inventory model between Web & POS
  • Infra: Optimized hosting, caching, and CDN for high-traffic bursts

Challenges & Solutions

  • High-footfall spikes: Implemented slot-level availability & overbooking protection with atomic updates to prevent race conditions.
  • Unified operations: Designed POS to read/write the same WooCommerce orders/inventory, eliminating sync issues.
  • Fast counter flow: Built a minimal-click “Sell Ticket” and role-based controls to reduce queue times.

Outcome

A unified platform that sells online and at the gate, keeps operations in sync, and scales city-to-city with a consistent brand experience and fewer on-ground bottlenecks.
