Project Overview:
Maven Pro is a company operations platform built to centralise everyday work. Instead of splitting information across spreadsheets, email, and separate HR tools, teams can manage their tasks, announcements, documents, attendance, and requests through one authenticated portal.
I handled product and full-stack development, building both the employee experience and the administrative controls behind it. Company branding, colours, timezone, and office location are configurable, allowing the portal to reflect the organisation using it.
A Connected Workspace:
The dashboard brings together assigned tasks, announcements, discussions, upcoming events, employee recognitions, and workplace updates. An employee directory, global search, and an OpenAI-powered assistant grounded in internal announcements, documents, and people help users find relevant information.
Task management supports assignees, comments, mentions, attachments, and discussion threads. Calendar events include invitation visibility and RSVP, while discussions support voting, pinning, resolution, and conversion into actionable tasks.
Knowledge, HR & Support:
The knowledge base organises internal resources through categories and document versioning. Announcements support draft and published states with optional email notifications, while a feedback wall and peer recognitions give employees space to contribute and celebrate colleagues.
HR features include attendance tracking from login and logout activity, leave balances, leave requests, manager approvals, and an HR log. Attendance handling also accounts for stale sessions and sessions that cross midnight.
Dedicated IT helpdesk and administrative request modules provide threaded conversations, status tracking, and permission-based editing and deletion.
Permissions & Subscription Billing:
Using Laravel Breeze and Spatie Permission, I implemented granular access for owners, administrators, HR, managers, IT staff, employees, and developers. Navigation and module access follow each user’s permissions.
Paddle integration supports plan information, billing history, inline checkout, invoice access, and the customer portal. Subscription status also controls access to the application: paused or cancelled subscriptions lock the intranet, owners and billing managers are directed to the subscription page, and other employees are signed out with a clear explanation. Developers retain full access for support.
Technical Highlights
- Laravel 12 application with MySQL, Blade, and Bootstrap.
- Granular role and permission management using Spatie Permission.
- Configurable company branding and timezone-aware behaviour.
- Paddle PHP SDK and Paddle.js integration for billing and checkout.
- Subscription enforcement middleware with cached status checks and a developer bypass.
- Attendance finalisation during login, subsequent requests, and scheduled daily processing.
Outcome:
Maven Pro brings company communication, daily operations, HR, and support into a single portal. It combines access tailored to job responsibilities with subscription controls that connect billing status directly to product access.
