The Pakistan Society of Internal Medicine (PSIM) is one of the most respected professional bodies in Pakistan, dedicated to advancing internal medicine through education, conferences, research, and community collaboration. With a growing membership base, PSIM needed a modern, centralized digital platform to manage member activities efficiently while providing a seamless user experience.
I recently led the development of a custom Laravel backend membership dashboard that transformed how members interact with the society—from tracking CME courses to downloading certificates and staying updated on events.
The Challenge: Modernizing Member Management
Before this project, many processes relied on manual coordination: attendance verification, certificate issuance, event reminders, and membership approvals. Members had limited visibility into their progress, and administrators spent significant time handling routine tasks.

- Dashboard Overview: At-a-glance stats showing total enrolled courses (09), completed (12), ongoing (03), and pending payments (01).
- Attendance Tracking: Records of past events (e.g., 2nd PIMCON 2024) and upcoming commitments (e.g., International Conference 2025).
- Certificate Management: Downloadable certificates (e.g., 5th Annual Conference 2024) and clear status updates on pending ones with processing timelines.
- Interactive Calendar: Color-coded events (Courses, Public Events, Academic Events, Conferences) with month/week/day views for January 2026 and beyond.
- Advanced Notifications System: Categorized alerts including system updates, new member requests, guest/faculty invitations, contact queries, and event reminders—with actionable buttons (Approve, Reject, Respond, View Details).
